About MBE
“Not new, but overdue”
In 2027, Metropolitan Charlotte gets — Metro Black Expo — several days built for the people who show up for each other already: Black entrepreneurs putting everything into their businesses, families looking for resources that actually help, and neighbors who just want to see their community win. Come be part of it from the start.

Why Metro Black Expo exists
Metro Black Expo was founded to close the gap in access, capital, and visibility that too many Black-owned businesses face. 2027 marks our very first event — a brand-new platform built to bring economic opportunity directly to our metro community.
Metro Black Expo was started with a simple observation: the Metro Charlotte Area has no shortage of Black-owned businesses, and no shortage of people who want to support them. What’s been missing is a single day that puts both in the same room.
This inaugural year, we’re bringing together entrepreneurs, sponsors, and families across the metro area through our first event, training programs, and direct funding — with one goal: building generational wealth in our community.
We’re not a legacy organization pretending to have decades of history behind us. We’re a first-year platform, built in public, alongside the entrepreneurs and families we’re trying to serve. If you’re joining as a vendor, sponsor, or attendee, you’re not just showing up to something — you’re one of the people who made year one possible.
Our Mission
This expo exists because you’re
already doing the work.
Every day, Black business owners in the Metro Charlotte Area are figuring it out without a playbook — chasing financing, teaching themselves marketing, showing up even on the days the math doesn’t work. Metro Black Expo is one day set aside to make some of that easier: real customers, real funding conversations, real connections that don’t start with a cold email.
If you’re a vendor, this is a stage. If you’re a sponsor, this is where your dollars turn into something visible and local. If you’re just here to shop, eat, and support your neighbors, that counts too. This is our first year, and we’re building it with the community, not just for it.

Our Core Pillars

Health & Wellness
True success begins with wellness—of the body, mind, and spirit. Our Health & Wellness pillar offers vital conversations around physical health, mental well-being, nutrition, fitness, and accessible healthcare. Through workshops, wellness checkups, and resources, we aim to create healthier lifestyles and a culture of self-care that strengthens both individuals and the broader community.

Education
Education is the fuel that powers advancement and opportunity. From youth enrichment to adult learning and professional development, this pillar is focused on closing knowledge gaps and promoting continuous growth. Whether through college readiness programs, financial literacy, or workforce training, we provide the tools and resources to help individuals unlock their potential and build a brighter future.

Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is a pathway to independence, innovation, and community growth. We celebrate Black business ownership and support entrepreneurs at every stage—from idea to expansion. This pillar offers guidance on business planning, marketing, funding access, branding, and scaling strategies, all while providing connections to mentors, investors, and industry leaders committed to seeing Black businesses thrive.

Wealth Creation
We believe economic strength is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Through this pillar, we provide access to financial education, capital resources, wealth-building strategies, and expert-led sessions that empower individuals and businesses to take control of their financial futures. By connecting entrepreneurs with investors and economic advocates, we help close the wealth gap and build a foundation for generational prosperity.
Uniting Black Excellence
A Transformative Experience of Innovation, Learning & Growth
Each year, we bring together Black entrepreneurs, creatives, professionals, and thought leaders for a high-energy, high-impact experience. The Expo offers vendor showcases, educational workshops, speaker panels, and networking opportunities that drive visibility, innovation, and growth.

Building a Legacy: Inspiring Generations Through Innovation, Empowerment & Black Excellence
We envision the Metro Black Expo evolving into a nationally celebrated tradition—a beacon of innovation, empowerment, and cultural pride. Our goal is to create an enduring legacy that not only uplifts Black-owned businesses but also inspires generations to dream bigger, achieve more, and build stronger communities. Through connection, collaboration, and celebration, the Expo will serve as a powerful catalyst for long-term economic advancement and collective success, year after year.
