Metro Black Expo — Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 23, 2026
By purchasing a ticket, registering as a vendor, attending, or otherwise participating in Metro Black Expo (“the Expo,” “we,” “us”), you agree to the terms below. Please read them before attending or registering.
1. Admission & Registration
Entry to the Expo requires a valid ticket, wristband, or registration confirmation, which must be presented upon request by event staff. Tickets are non-transferable unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase. Metro Black Expo reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any individual from the premises whose conduct is disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of these terms, without refund.
Some sessions, including the Youth Leadership Session and Youth Entrepreneur Session, may have limited capacity or require separate sign-up. We recommend arriving early for high-demand sessions, as space is not guaranteed simply by holding a general admission ticket.
2. Minors & Guardian Consent
Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or have written consent on file, to participate in youth programming. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors throughout the event, including during transitions between sessions and while on the expo floor. Metro Black Expo staff and volunteers are not a substitute for parental supervision.
3. Schedule Changes
Sessions, speakers, exhibitors, and the College Fair Day lineup are subject to change without notice due to circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to speaker availability, venue conditions, or weather. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes but cannot guarantee that every listed session, vendor, or scholarship presentation will occur exactly as advertised.
4. Scholarships
Scholarship awards are granted at the sole discretion of Metro Black Expo and its sponsoring partners, based on criteria determined by the organizers and/or scholarship committee. Being listed as a finalist, applicant, or attendee of the scholarship presentation does not guarantee an award. Award amounts, number of recipients, and disbursement terms are set by the organizers and sponsoring entities and may vary year to year. Recipients may be asked to provide proof of enrollment or other documentation before funds are disbursed.
5. Vendor & Exhibitor Terms
Vendors and exhibitors participate under a separate vendor agreement covering booth fees, setup and breakdown times, product restrictions, and insurance requirements, which takes precedence over general attendee terms where applicable. Vendors are solely responsible for their own products, services, transactions, and any claims arising from them. Metro Black Expo does not endorse and is not liable for the goods, services, or representations made by any individual vendor.
6. Assumption of Risk & Liability
Attendance at Metro Black Expo is voluntary, and attendees assume all risk of injury, loss, or damage to person or property while on the premises, to the extent permitted by law. Metro Black Expo, its organizers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and venue partners are not liable for any injury, loss, theft, or damage arising from attendance, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7. Photography, Video & Media Release
Metro Black Expo may photograph, film, or record the event, including attendees, speakers, and youth participants, for use in promotional materials, social media, news coverage, and future marketing. By attending, you consent to such use unless you notify event staff in writing prior to the event that you decline. Parents/guardians of minors are responsible for opting their child out if desired; absent such notice, consent is presumed for the minor as well.
8. Code of Conduct
We’re committed to a safe, respectful environment for all attendees, especially the young people participating in our youth programming. Harassment, discrimination, threats, or disorderly conduct of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal without refund, and referral to venue security or law enforcement where warranted.
9. Refunds & Cancellations
Ticket refund and cancellation policies will be posted at the point of purchase. In the event Metro Black Expo cancels the entire event due to circumstances beyond our control (severe weather, venue closure, public health order, etc.), we will communicate refund or credit options as soon as reasonably possible. We are not responsible for incidental costs attendees incur in connection with the event, such as travel or lodging.
10. Intellectual Property
The Metro Black Expo name, logo, and event branding are the property of the organizers and may not be used for commercial purposes without written permission.
11. Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically. Continued registration or attendance after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
